SRCC GBO HR SUMMIT 2010
HR SUMMIT - 28th AUGUST 2010
TOPIC: HR TRANSMUTATION - A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE
Thursday, August 12, 2010
Tuesday, August 10, 2010
About the topic of discussion
HR transmutation refers to the necessity to relook and overhaul HR processes and practices keeping in mind the ever-changing business environment. Since transmutation is a universal act and not a change at the individual level it is about changing the mindset of business or HR leaders. This change should start from the core and percolate in multiple directions. Traditional, deliberate and risk-averse hiring and retention models lead to positions remaining open for long periods which are opportunities lost as top prospects find other positions, which leads to a reduction in the overall talent levels of an organization. Many political and economic events like the economic recession, security threats after 9/11, the rise of global terrorism, health concerns for working professionals, globalization etc have changed the scope and the duties of HR professionals in companies. The world of business is changing rapidly; more women and people from diverse cultures are becoming a part of the workforce. How can a HR professional respond to such change; change which is inevitable. This summit provides us with an opportunity to participate in a forum for the critical examination and analysis of such key issues.
